Eero advises senior management on energy transition and local governance issues, leads sub-national and non-state actor cooperation (i.a. the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy and the Cities Mission).
He has dealt with energy consumer, retail market, offshore safety, fossil fuel and CCS policies as Acting and/or Deputy Head of Unit at DG Energy, after responsibilities in the space, (Galileo), security and transports (TEN) sectors.
Prior to the EC Eero served as career diplomat responsible for multilateral humanitarian assistance, crisis management and security when Finland set up the Finnish Mission to NATO and WEU.
He has worked also in international finance, media and city promotion and has an MSc (Econ) from Hanken Business School in Finland.
