Afan Adriansyah Idris has been appointed as Undersecretary of the Jakarta Capital City Government for Development and Environment since 2021. His main responsibility is to coordinate the formulation of policy and monitor/evaluate policy implementation in the scope of public works (water resource, roads, and utility), spatial planning, housing, environment and forestry. He coordinates and organizes several technical agencies such as the Cipta Karya, Spatial Planning and Land Matter Agency, the Water Resources Agency, the Roads and Utility Agency, the Environment Agency, the Housing Agency, and the Parks and Forestry Agency. Before being appointed in his current position, he was appointed as the Head of Development and Environment Bureau in 2019-2021. He had been also assigned to various other managerial positions such as Head of Planning, Development and Development Monitoring of Jakarta Regional Planning Board, Head of Economic Affairs of Jakarta Regional Planning Board, Head of Subdivision City Infrastructure and Environment of North Jakarta Administrative City Development Planning Office, and many other assignments in various agencies in Jakarta Capital City Government. As for the academic background, Afan Adriansyah Idris holds a master's degree in General Economics at Padjadjaran University, and a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Trisakti University.
