Mayor Fatma Şahin is a graduate of ITU Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering Department. She worked in the textile industry for 18 years and later served as a member of parliament for three terms. She is a founding Minister of Family and Social Policies. Mayor Şahin has been working as the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor since 2014. At the same time, she continues to work as the Chairman of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye.
